Faroe Island village, 18 x 24 cm, oil on canvas board, ©2010 Julie Galante. [SOLD]
Today I am dreaming of what it would be like to spend a month on sabbatical in the Faroe Islands, painting everything I see, people and places.
I got a little frisky with the tip of the palette knife on this one. I might go back and add something to it later, but I’m also pretty pleased with how it looks right now.
Happy Thanksgiving!
I think it looks great as is, warm and inviting.
Your paintings have me wanting to escape to the Faroes. Had to get out the atlas, thought, to find them. Love the reds and blues.
Hi Julie, Cool paintings of the Faroes. I had to go look at the maps on line. The Faroes remind me of small town Norway…go figure, they’re not that far apart! The Faroes look like a fascinating place. I like your painting, colorful with simplified shapes. The buildings look old and weathered by the sea. Expressive!
Wow what an amazing painting!
Beautiful. The colors are lovely.
Here from ICLW 🙂 Your work is beautiful! I used to do oil painting more for catharsis than anything else. You’re very inspirational. Best wishes to you.
Mignon!
Carino!
‘Tis wonderful.
I was intrigued to find that the Latin word COLLIS is related to the Germanic root Hill, etc., thru the parent language, Indo European.
All the best, Jul
