Albi skyline study, oil on canvas board, 18 x 24 cm. Available on Etsy.
I love the skyline of Albi (the hometown of painter Toulouse-Lautrec). Just look at the layers upon layers of buildings as the city climbs up the hill. It’s the kind of interesting space that draws me in and features prominently in my cityscapes. Surprisingly, I think this is my first France painting; France is full of gorgeous city spaces and elegantly decaying buildings, so I’m sure it will be making more appearances in my artwork.
This was a big week for my art: I sent out save-the-date emails for an open studio event that I’ll be hosting at the end of the month. It has been over three years since I’ve had a big public showing of my art, so I’m really excited to be doing this. Nervous, too!
If you’ll be in Munich at the end of April and you’d like to receive an invitation to my open studio, please sign up for my mailing list.

Yay! Be sure to confirm your sign-up by clicking though on the confirmation email – unfortunately I’ve heard a couple reports from friends that it can end up in one’s spam folder.
