After work in the beer garden, 30 x 30 cm, oil on canvas, @2012 Julie Galante. [SOLD]
This one was a bit difficult to photograph, since it’s dark and has some highly shiny bits.
I don’t like to travel very much in summer, because I don’t like the heat. Just as well, since the long days mean more hours of daylight perfect for getting a lot done in the studio. I’m planning my schedule for July, and thinking of putting together an intense month-long project to focus on. It’s going to involve some different media than I’m used to, and some plein air drawing and painting. Possibly in beer gardens. This could be fun.
I love the phrase “Beer Garden”. If we plant little beer bulbs in the spring will we see them bloom into kegs in the summer, which we pick during the beer harvest?
I always thought the beer plants were more like giant honeysuckles, where you must delicately pull out the stamen to harvest the liquid inside. But I suppose that would be awfully labor-intensive.
