When I’m not busy staring out my studio window at sunsets, I’m somewhere in Edinburgh diving face-first into the food and drink offerings of this city. As a travel blogger I learned to start photographing my restaurant meals for posterity long ago. As I search my photo archives for painting inspiration, often these food (or drink) photos catch my eye. Some delicacies, of course, look better in paint than others.
This painting was inspired by a delicious dessert cocktail I had at Aisle, a very fun restaurant serving creative food and drink. I’m thinking colorful cocktails could become a new favorite subject of mine.

Your painting makes my mouth water! Beautiful!
Lovely!
Wow, thank you so much for painting my cocktail! I am so honoured! Absolutely gorgeous.
Glad you like it, Krystal. 🙂
looks yummy! Nice work…
Wow, this looks delicious! Your vibrant colours are delightful – I think you are onto something here as I’m sure there are enough colourful cocktails to make a fairly substantial series. Of course you have to order them at a few different places to make sure you get the most aesthetically pleasing ones… could be a tough job!
My thoughts exactly, Cindy – this would be one fun series to research! It’s a tough job, finding the most exquisite cocktails in Edinburgh, but someone has to do it.
Thank you for all the lovely comments! Painting tasting things makes my mouth water, too.
