This was a very quick attempt to capture a sunset in action. They change so much from moment to moment, every time I mixed a color it was obsolete a minute later. Still, a fun exercise. I have a stack of these tiny 10x15cm stretched canvases, and I’ve never known what to do with them. Perhaps the answer is to keep them by the window, so they’re ready the next time a good sunset comes along.

This is rather pretty — I like sunsets — and the ones that I witnessed in Scotland (well… the Shetland Islands) were amazing. (Not that the rest of Scotland wasn’t bad, either….)
I have a dream of going to Scotland one day but in the meantime, thank you for the visual “trip”….lovely!
I love the texture you achieved, it adds so much to the painting and it gives it such life. Visiting from AEDM.
You did a wonderful job capturing the light underneath the clouds.
Thanks for the encouraging comments. I’m looking forward to the next good sunset so I can try again.
I love this! The colors and their texture make me want to dissolve into the sky so I can be surrounded by them.
