Today’s exercise was to draw an expressive bee. How did I do? I had to stop after 15 minutes or so, because I was too tempted to start adding more details and making it look more like the photograph, rather than leaving it loose and expressive. Maybe I should have pushed myself to keep going instead, to see what would happen. I have to remember that it’s ok to push these drawing exercises too far and ‘ruin’ them – it’s all part of the learning fun. Maybe I’ll come back to him tomorrow.
I apologize for being so late visiting, but I haven’t been on the computer at all today. I think you did an excellent job with the bee. I only wish I could create something that beautiful, but even 15 hours wouldn’t produce anything as great as this.
Thank you! And it’s good to have a day off from the computer. I should do that more often.
Wonderful work. Personally I don’t think it needs anything adding, but I know the feeling of “just a bit more; oops……”
Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to know exactly when to stop working on a piece?
Awesome! That there bee has pizzaz and would have me running out of its way!
I think I’m going to name this drawing “That there bee has pizzaz”. I love it!
That’s so cool Julie! Thanks!
